Living A Creative Life

Fate, Faith or Simply Luck?

The sound of screeching wheels, cracking branches and smashing glass penetrated my consciousness, but thankfully I could see nothing; my mind had blacked out all of my vision to the scene, or maybe I just held my eyes tightly shut but I felt nothing, only my hearing stayed acute.

Datsun 180B Wreck

Was it luck, divine intervention, fate, or faith which sent my car careering through the only dead tree along the road side? All the trees here had a girth of metres and my car had wrapped itself around one of the largest which was hollower and weak and had buckled under the impact. A bump on the head and a seat belt graze was the sum total of my injuries. Not a day goes by when I don’t feel the responsibility of surviving this accident.

You might think that is insane, it was just luck, or I should just accept the gift of life, and I do. At the same time, there is not a morning when I don’t wake up feeling like I should be doing more with my life. Stupid really. I have two wonderful sons, a loving husband, a successful business and the beginnings of a writing career. What more could I want?

Have you ever experienced something which has made you feel like there is more to life that what you see? If you have, I would love to hear your story….
